What was the first song you ever heard by 1?

Am I Wry? No - it was years and years ago when the only Czech music TV started airing and one of their odd programmes played the Am I Wry? No video. I didn’t realise I was going to end up loving the band a few years later, but I still remember the first Mew appearance in my life.

What is your favorite song of 7?

Right now, The Fear, probably.

What kind of impact has 1 left on your life?

If I leave what Mew’s music actually does to me, how I feel when I first listen to their new material, when I listen to Frengers for the millionth time, when I see them live… They gave me great friends. They gave me my boyfriend, and actually even my previous boyfriend. They changed my live, they showed me there are people who make me happy, who make me feel accepted for who I am, and those people live hundreds, even thousands of kilometres apart. Mew fans, Frengers, Mewsiters. They are the best community I have ever been a part of.

What are your favorite lyrics of 5?

I’m bad at this ‘favourite’ thing, cos these things change all the time. But two days ago, going up Royal Mile here in Edinburgh, I nearly cried listening to Forget That You’re Young. Again.

How many times have you seen 4 live?

Five. From a bad show in Prague in 2007 (when one of them was ill and all of them were angry with each other), through three amazing shows in 2009 (Prague, Dresden and Salzburg), to a heartbreakingly bad (or maybe just different, different in a way I hated) show in Glasgow last April. I would go see them again, but I wouldn’t put my heart into it. They would have to try real hard.

What is your favorite song by 6?

That’s another tough one, for me. I’ll go with the song that convinced me Mansun are a band worth my attention - Mansun’s Only Love Song.

Is there a song by 3 that makes you sad?

Yes. It’s been Smokescreen for whatever reason since Michael Feerick played in Edinburgh.

What is your favorite song by 2?

Again, right now it’s Doesn’t Matter Much, Hold You’re Holding Up and/or Four Walls. Bring on the new material!

When did you first get into 5?

I couldn’t get into them for a long, long time when everyone loved them and I just couldn’t find my way to them. But then, in 2010 at Off Festival in Poland, I finally saw them. And that changed everything.

How did you get into 3?

I went to a Myspace page of a fellow Frenger who had, in my eyes, the best taste in music, and copied the list of bands he had there. And went from A. The fellow Frenger is now my dearest and the band is now one of my favourites.

What is your favourite song by 4?

Ouch. I honestly don’t know. It would be something from either Madonna or Worlds Apart. A Perfect Teenhood, Mistakes and Regrets, Caterwaul, The Rest Will Follow? I have no answer to this.

What is a good memory concerning 2?

OH SO MANY. I’ve seen them way too many times, I was a voluntary merch girl in 2010, we’ve partied at so many places. Not necessary good but definitely memorable was the night after their Prague gig, but I am not allowed to say anything about that. Maybe the amazing night in Breda in the Netherlands 2010 (mind you, I’ve seen them three times in Breda and all three times were great - I met a very good friend the first time, BRS played an instrumental B-side for me as a birthday present the second time, and we all got wrecked the last time). Or the night in Paris, when we started the whole merch-selling thing, and also when we got hammered, again. Every night with BRS is a great memory, even the freezing outdoors gig in Vienna in January 2010.

Is there a song by 2 that makes you sad?

It used to be This Is Not For You. And probably still is. But BRS don’t really do sad, sad songs, you know?

What is your favourite song of 3?

Road Eyes, at the moment. It reminds me of when I was still in Budweis, it was summer, I was cycling through the park with my headphones on and Road Eyes was blasting into my ears. Yeah.

What song isn’t your favourite of 7?

Probably all those I never bothered to listen to again? I’m not a big fan of Seperations, so you could put this whole album in there.
